Even pcie ethernet cards with this realtek 8125 have this issue.No motherboard vendor has acknowledged this fault and it has been over a month since widespread reports.Search realtek 8125 ethernet issues for bigger picture or just gigabyte b550i ethernet freezes on Google. There’s multiple threads on reddit r/gigabyte and r/amd regarding this.
Pyrofer5.0: Great motherboard. Works well and has plenty of IO etc. Two m.2 slots means you can easily migrate drives if you upgrade.I had to flash the BIOS before it worked with my CPU but it was easy. Once you download the new BIOS from gigabyte’s website put it on a FAT32 formatted USB stick and put it into THE WHITE USB SLOT on the back ONLY that one. Do not use the Blue or Red or Black USB. You can only flash from the White one.Press the Q-Flash button and wait (ages). When it’s done you can use the machine! I was told to do this with no CPU or RAM plugged in but I had both and my GPU (PC fully built) it still flashed with no apparent issues.
BBer2.0: Like many other people who have bought this board it has its moments where it doesn’t want to work. By that i mean it doesn’t power up at all and shows no signs of life. The only way i get it to work when it does this is by removing the CMOS battery for 5mins making sure that the PSU is turned off. I have found that when i turn the PC off at night that if i leave it shut down for a few minutes before turning the power off at the wall then it seems to take longer before the problem comes back I’m unsure if that’s just luck or if there is a genuine reason behind it.Considering where the location of the cmos battery is you almost certainly have to remove your graphics card to remove it. This makes a simple job a fair bit harder and something i feel gigabyte overlooked with this board a board with a lot of overclocking features should always have a very accessible way to clear cmos(using the jumper pins don’t work to alleviate the issue i have with the board). The bios updates for this board are fairly poor as well One fixes some issues but then a whole host of others pop up. This can range from usbs and Bluetooth not working to random shutdowns of the system and restarts. While the VRM and IO are fairly well put together i feel the memory overclocking is hit and miss for me the two kits i have tried on this board almost hit rated speeds but don’t quite get to 3200mhz without crashes. This of course could be the memory modules at fault for that so i wouldn’t read to much into that as an overview of the boards performance.I’m fairly unsure if this is a review or just a way of perhaps helping anyone with the issues I’ve had with this board. If i had my time again i would of gone for a much cheaper board with perhaps less features but with far greater stability. Out of all the AM4 motherboards I’ve owned since the initial release in 2017 this has got to be the worst when it comes to overall system stability. I nearly forgot the dual bios is truly awful when not incorporated with some sort of hardwired switch to be able to control what is going on.I would try sending this board back but i feel i would only get one back with the same issues i don’t believe gigabyte has even acknowledged that the CMOS/cold boot issues even exist the last time i spoke to their customer service team. I do hope this helps some of you that have either got this board or someone who is looking to make this purchase.
Zenito R.1.0: Did i just receive a refurbished motherboard? the anti static is so crumpled. Backplate with no plastic. A piece of paper i think an old manual from 2012. with Intel motherboard in it. and written in French. and No Sata Cables.
