(https://www.amazon.co.uk/Apple-USB-C-Digital-Multi-port-Adaptor/dp/B07XFYZLTJ/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=apple+av+adapter+usb+c&qid=1645004257&sprefix=apple+av+a%2Caps%2C92&sr=8-3) – I wanted the adapter on my desk connected to the PSU HDMI and other USB-A device and this cable extending its power/video/data output so I could move the laptop with this single cable connecting everything.The cable works fine for video/USB-A but won’t pass power reliably – with the PSU connected into the AV adapter and this cable being the single connection from the AV adapter to the laptop the laptop ‘pings’ repeatedly as it tries to charge and fails.I have to have both the PSU plugged into the laptop and this cable separately connecting to the AV adaptor.Not a complete failure but not as neat as I’d have liked. USB-C/PD is very difficult to ensure compatibility – the UGREEN description of the cable suggests it should do both power and video/data. It states compatibility with “USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 devices like MacBook Pro” which matches my laptop specs but in the table of devices it states “MacBook Pro 2020/2019” – not the 2018.A good cable but do your research thoroughly.
DomHam1.0: Ich habe dieses Kabel speziell für eine USB-Docking-Station gekauft an folgendes angeschlossen ist: 1440p@60Hz Monitor Tastatur Maus Headset Webcam 100W PD Ethernetkabel.Ohne dieses 05m lange Verlängerungskabel funktioniert alles mit dem Kabel kommt nur das Bildsignal beim Monitor an und das Notebook wird geladen – alle angeschlossenen USB-Geräte bleiben aus.
Beekeeper4.0: USB-C cables differ hugely in performance. I have a Samsung 4K U28E590 monitor. Its resolution is amazing but it is very demanding with regard to graphics processing. It is connected to the latest M1 MacBook via a Belkin USB-C hub. However I needed to extend the hub cable to the MacBook hence I bought the UGREEN extension cable. The cable is really robust and strikingly similar to the cable coming out of the Belkin hub. Everything about it seems superb and performance is flawless. However for some strange reason when the Mac comes out of sleep it “sees” the monitor but the monitor doesn’t actually come on. At this point I don’t know whether this is driver issue in Big Sur OSX in relation to the Belkin hub or a problem with the UGREEN extension cable. Simply pulling out the USB-C plug from the Mac and pushing it back in solves the problem but I have yet to find a better way.
Bob3.0: Good value & seems to do the job since ios devices are charged while using it. Don’t know if they charge more slowly than WITHOUT it nor if this cable can carry data either – since I don’t care if it can or not – data transmission (capability of carrying it or speed of it IF it can carry such stuff) isn’t why I bought it.Device did NOT ‘overheat’ while charging (iPhone 6S Plus) when using this UGREEN EXTENSION CABLE which was connected in between an Apple Lightning to usb c charge & sync cable & an Apple 20w usb c charger but I won’t charge that iphone that way again since Apple advised AGAINST it for THAT iPhone – it said iPhone 6S Plus should NOT be charged with a charger higher than 12w or at least it is NOT compatible to be ‘fast charged’.Will charge that iphone in future with Apple 12w or 10w usb A charger as I usually have anyway.I also charge my iPad 8 using (supplied with ipad) Apple 20w usb c charger but NOT usually with this UGREEN extension cable. I have used THIS UGREEN extension cable & its supplied with ipad 8 lightning to usb charge & sync cable (TWICE) which did NOT cause any noticable overheating to cable charger or ipad.MY APPLE charge & synce cable (supplied with ipad) does not reach the available power socket so an ‘Apple Store sourced’ much longer (over 10ft long) BELKIN Lightning to USB C cable (£40!! 😒) is usually used instead since it is at least 3x the length of the Apple cable and still longer than combination of Apple Cable & UGREEN EXTENSION cable so it DOES reach where it needs to.No serious issues using THAT BELKIN cable or Ugreen extension & Apple cable combination with my iPad 8 (or iPhone 12 Pro Max with same cable choice) with 20w Apple usb c charger though iPhone 12 Pro Max gets ‘quite a bit warmer’ while charging with Apple 20w usb c charger & supplied Apple charge & sync usb c cable than while charging using an Apple Lightning to usb A charge & sync cable plus Apple 12w USB A charger (that came with iPad Mini 5).My Apple Watch 6 is charged with Apple 5w iPhone chargers (I have 2x of them) & Apple Watch charging cables so no need for any other chargers (I also have 1x 10w 2x 12w 2x 20w Apple Chargers plus associated type usb A or usb C cables) or any other cable extensions either (I have THREE USB A extension cable too) to be charging Watch ‘faster’ since it won’t charge ‘faster’ anyway!I hope THAT ‘getting much warmer’ is not an indicator of future iPhone 12 Pro Max battery problems or 5w usb A 10w usb A 12w usb A or 20w usb c charger issues.I also can’t say if during the iPhone 12 Pro Max ‘getting warmer with using usb C charger’ does or does NOT happen irrespective of cable used.While charging iPhone 12 Pro Max using an Apple 20w usb c charger it got warmer than I am comfortable with.I have used the Belkin 10ft long lighning to usb c charge & sync cable Apple Lightning to usb c charge & sync cable by itself AND with the UGREEN usb c to usb c extension cable all three combinations with iPhone 12 Pro Max & Apple 20w usb charger.At no point during ‘warm period’ for iPhone 12 Pro Max was I trying to send data from or receive data sent TO either iPhone 12 Pro Max or iPad 8 (except MAYBE some warmness – not that I noticed any – when testing the ability of either iPad 8 iPhone 12 Pro Max & iPad Mini 4/5 or even iPhone 6 Plus or 6S Plus to ‘work’ with a keyboard & mouse) and when THAT was being tested I also used an Apple Lightning USB 3 Camera adapter for the keyboard dongle or thumb drive. The cable used THEN was always the 10ft long BELKIN connected the the camera adapter and obviously Apple 20w usb c charger.I did not have the ugreen cable then & the Apple cable was too short to use anyway.No overheating occurred as far as I could tell but ‘charging’ was quite slow while iOS & iPad OS devices were in use – iPhone 6 Plus iPhone 6S Plus iPhone 12 Pro Max iPad Mini 4 iPad Mini 5 iPad 8. THREE or FOUR different keyboard & mouse combinations were also in use with nearly all of these iPads & iPhones too.Whether usb 3 camera adapter was or was NOT in use NO OVERHEATING occured while using or using & charging – while connected to usb c charger and ANY cable owned THEN – with my iPad 8 or any other iOS or iPadOS deviceNO OVERHEATING HAPPENED.I will try the use of the UGREEN EXTENSION CABLE & Apple cable (IF they reach power socket) doing similar to above done using BELKIN 10ft cable to compare charging time or whether ‘overheating’ occurs during charging time.I hope SOME of this helps somone 😁Report to follow.The 12 Pro Max got warmer (than when charging via lightning to usb A) using ANY of the three cable choices.Also my 10w (yes 10w) usb A charger that I got with an iPad 4 still works well enough after aound TEN YEARS! to charge my iPhone 12 Pro Max overnight!No noticeable overheating even if some ‘warmth’ is felt coming from iPhone 6s Plus or 12 Pro Max depending on which cable/charger is used with which iPhone.
