Ryan Dubbs5.0:
First off let me start off by stating I have tested a LOT of headphones over the years. I’m extremely technical in my IT field and that obsession with tech translates into every other aspect of my life. I’m extremely picky and while I’m not rich I’m comfortable enough to get the best of things I really love.Don’t let this fool you though I’m also super cheap where I can be. As a matter of fact this review is predicated on me moving on from something “cheap” to obviously NOT even close to cheap. When it comes to home audio I’ve been a Sennheiser fan for many years. I’ve had some higher-end Sony’s over the years and even once had a pair of studio Denons. When it comes to earbuds though frankly put I never have been overly impressed. I found a solution for around 40 dollars that would last around a year + and while they weren’t anywhere NEAR a full ear covering headphones quality they also didn’t make my ears cringe.I have gone through a lot of different headphones from true wireless like these (soo many) and a few of the same non true wireless/ wireless Bluetooth style ones like from Bose. I returned ALL but these and the Bose. For a company that first hooked me with their awesome battery banks this is quite the leap and I admit I was very hesitant at first but now I am very glad I got them!I was planning only keeping one and when the Bose impressed me it admittedly raised the bar for others. Even without that though every other true wireless had some caveat I didn’t like. Either the sound was terrible the case was horrible charging was too frequent or inconvenient. etc. The biggest difference between these Bose and the cheaper options was how the headphone had to fit “PERFECT” to sound good. These just fit great stay put and sound impressive without having to overly manipulate to get them just right. I even had a few had touch controls and constantly needed to be adjusted. ANNOYING!! I’ll take the physical button over touch in this case. The sound on these immediately impressed me and got my attention compared to the other true wireless style ones I have. Then I did the personalized EQ via the Soundcore app. Game changing. I believe I have pretty high hearing ranges and these headphones feel like they tailor right to them. Highs are CRISP with no tinny sound and you really hear the range of instruments. Pop on some Rap/Hip Hop and you’ll immediately notice these are no slouches when it comes to bass. Honestly anymore bass and it would make my ear itch. Full disclosure I have a 500+ watt surround sound system on my computer and grew up with subs in my cars. These sound AMAZING!I’m telling you these sound so good you’ll notice your bad quality MP3’s 100 times worse and even will notice sounds that made it past studio mastering. (amp feedback etc) Just at a bit higher volume than the bose does. No joke these are that good. The case is wireless charging so you don’t have to fuss with ANOTHER cable if you so choose. To be honest I’ve had them for a few days now and haven’t even needed to come near charging and I’ve been playing with them FAR more than I’ll ever use headphones on a regular basis. Its almost 10 pm now I’ve been rocking music non stop on them all day. I took some calls on it and even left music playing while buds were out and I was eating. (eating and earbuds is just weird imo) Anyways. Since I’ve got them trying to use the crap out of them the lowest I’ve seen the ear buds get down to is 80% immediately afterwards putting them in the wireless charger which still shows 3/3 bars. WOW. Considering the intended use for these and likelihood they won’t be my gym headphones and the Bose Soundsports will fit that role I’ll probably have to set the wireless charger on the Qi Charger once or twice a month at this rate. One unintended surprise is I will use them more than I EVER thought for I found in about 75% of the ones I touched you can’t just go single ear easily without having to do steps to ensure it pairs right the next time to both or bla bla bla. I’m a network engineer by trade and still don’t want to go through unnecessary hoops for basic functions. These just work you pull out the right ear piece put it on and you can make calls on it. I didn’t have to do anything special to have them be headphones again as normal next time. Smart. While on that track the noise cancellation is top-notch. People can hear me very clearly no matter where I am I allowed my 14 year old to try them and proceeded to talk all kind of smack to him to see if he could hear me. Until I was fairly loud and right next to him he was none the wiser. :)Gaming performance on these is like most aptx devices OK but not great. Definitely better than earlier codec versions of Bluetooth . Built in youtube app is FAR better than watching video in the browser etc (likely to hardware acceleration) I’m going to do some testing in dev options and see what I can do.Only cons I could think of it not being cheaper but that immediately disappeared when I heard them. They are clearly a premium product. Active noise cancellation would be a good feature but personally I don’t travel or need to listen to them in noisy environments etc.TLDRAwesome bass clear highs with overall great sound. Alexa / Google assistant works fantastic!! Only con would be if you don’t have 150 dollars to buy them yourself or ABSOLUTELY need active noise cancellation which I would imagine you probably wouldn’t be buying earbuds?Buy them now. Come back and thank me later 😊 Anker great job! I see why you guys are rocking it!

*NEW REVIEW*Anker’s customer service sent me a replacement pair of earbuds. They touched the hardware a bit and it helps. First off: the white noise is still here but toned down. They have admitted in details that due to the current Qualcomm platform the white noise issue cannot be solved at the moment. Here is my updated review (going from a 1-star review to a 4-star review): the “electronic” noise is especially noticeable at the end of a song when the song goes quiet. It is like I can hear the amplifier amplify nothing. And then if I stop playing music or hit the pause button it feels like the buds go into sleep mode within a few seconds and the white noise stops completely. I haven’t tried podcasts or spoken tracks (with no music) – I feel like this could bother me a lot more. When playing straight up music all is good. The sound that comes out of the buds when music is playing is otherwise great. You cannot beat two drivers vs. 1 as seen on the Apple Airpods Pro or the WF-1000MX3. This is basic physics. There are no known true wireless buds that have dual drivers apart from the Liberty 2 Pro. 2 drivers mean that the 11mm driver can go all the way to 20hz while the Knowles driver can go all the way up to 20khz separately and concurrently. With only 1 driver like on the Airpods’ or the Sony’s they have to compensate for the lack of reach in either end of the spectrum through the equalizer but that comes with a loss in fidelity. So the sound when playing music on the Liberty 2 Pro’s is better than many competitors the hype is justified and the product is well built. The battery life seems really good too.If these buds did not have that white noise issue and had active noise cancelling Anker would own the market. Not 5-star because of the white noise issue. I would buy the buds again but when they are discounted.*ORIGINAL REVIEW*Just ordered these on January 4 2020 and received iteration 1 of the product (knowing that iteration 2 currently ships to customers). Iteration 1 always has background white noise and hissing. If you advertise this product as high-end audiophile grade expect your customers to know a thing or two about audio quality. Most customers will pick up on the white noise issue! It feels like Anker is trying to off-load their old iteration hardware betting that a % of customers will tolerate the hissing and background noises that plague iteration 1 and that are supposedly fixed in iteration 2 (based on customer feedback).Anker should simply recall all the iteration 1 of this product and send exclusively iteration 2 hardware to their customers. Returning on the same day for a refund. Very disappointed.

I recently had the left Airpod fall on the subway tracks and discovered that it costs north of 100 dollars to get a single replacement. I then heard about these on The Verge and thought it worth a chance to what the price of one Airpod 2 could get be at Anker.PositivesThe bass from these are great. In fact I think it is even better than my Airpod 2’s. The dynamic range is decent and the sound is immersive and full. You can also achieve without setting the volume at full blast. I was pleasantly surprised when I found 4 pairs of earbud sizes as well. I was able to choose the size that fit best and led to as little discomfort as possible in my ears. The earbuds themselves look nice and subtly reminds me of bullets. The clean shinny surfaces of them only continue to give off a premium look. When I find myself in settings containing less sound and noise pollution the mics are extremely solid and crisp. Upon asking three friends and my mum they all agreed that my voice was clear and even better than what they heard when I used Airpods. The app is a nice feature and perfect for those who want a more than normal sound experience. Personally I been able to lean a lot about the features and nuances that associated to sound. I will admit though after a week I sort of forgot about the app and just let it play with all the factory settings. The okay…Despite the case being a bit bulky (twice the size of Airpods) it does come in a soft-touch matte finish which makes it feel a lot smaller to carry and thus less bulky. I’d imagine that the size also allows for a larger capacity in battery. The placement of the earbuds into the charging case is a bit confusing at first. You definitely need to look when setting the earbuds into the charge case as they lay on their sides rather than be popped in like other earbuds such as Airpods. I figured that eventually getting use to it and muscle memory will allow me to be a pro in it.The not so great…Despite the mic being incredible in low noise/sound situations the soundcores seem to significantly struggle in noisy environments. I conducted multiple tests to validate this included speaking to friends on the subway bus streetcars running gymming at a crowded gym. While on the subway other callers can consistently have a conversation with me on Airpods. However on the soundcores callers struggle to make out what is being said—especially when the subway is making a turn and air brakes are activated. The set-up process with an iOS device is also much to be desired as for some reason would disconnect and I would have to place the left and right one in the case to re-setup. In addition the buttons to pause and play are not touch sensitive which means that I need to press down on physical for them to work. I must wear these loosely otherwise it hurts too much so I basically must wrap my hands around them when pausing/accepting calls. I have also been noticing a hissing noise consistently it’s only noticeable when the music has stopped and there may be a pause in beats/lyrics. Hoping it’s just a software fix.Overall the sound quality is fantastic but the difficulties in connecting push buttons and poor mic quality is difficult for me to recommend.

Update: The Anker customer service got in touch with me and replaced the headphones with a new pair. This time there is minimal hiss and all the other things are also working perfectly fine. I like the existence of button controls instead of touch controls (personal preference) wireless charging case and long battery life and stable connection (at least so far). I also like the sound a lot. It is not by all means a replacement for my wired headphones but it is very nice and entertaining during bus trips and in situations where I don’t want to deal with cables snagging at things. I guess I can reduce one star for the inconvenience but I wasn’t in a hurry and I am happy with the final product. My previous review on this pair is below for reference.”The headphones sound really good; if you ignore the constant hiss. It becomes particularly noticeable when you are listening to podcasts or anything at a lower volume. I bought two pairs and returned them both for the same hissing issue. The first one had both earphones hissing and the second had only the right one hissing loudly. I really like the rest of the design and the wireless charging case and usb-c and the button control. I think design-wise it is almost perfect for what I am looking for in a wireless set of headphones. But then the hissing… Kinda ruined the experience for me.”

Amazon Customer3.0:
The earbuds sound great at moderate to high volumes. The app allows different sound settings which makes it easy to find the right soundUnfortunately there is static at low volumes before any song or video starts or between tracks – for the cost not acceptable – I retuned then
