debE1.0: I had this camera for about 3 months and it worked great; I really liked it. About 3 weeks ago I could no longer view the live feed on the app on my phone data plan while away from home. Live feed now only works when I am at home on my wi-fi. I made absolutely no changes to the camera app etc so I have no idea how this happened. Their ‘technical’ support is a joke. I called 3 times and the connection is very very bad. Each time I called the person kept cutting out and then I could tell they were getting angry with me! I went to the live chat on the amcrest website and asked for someone to call me. Another woman called and the connection was better. I allowed her to remote into my computer and she made some changes to my router. She was only interested in my giving her a 5 star review. I told her I would have to test the camer out before I would do that. Of course the problem was not fixed and in addition the pivot feature of the camera (to track motion) stopped working after she made the changes. Every rep I spoke to at this company was not only unable to support the produt they sell but also they all seemed to be very angry and short with me. I am totally disgusted with the cheap products being made these days and the overseas ‘support’ that are supposed to be helping us the consumers. They might as well offer no support. I was past my return window with Amazon but I called them and they agreed to send me a return label. I would avoid this company and do some research on other cameras. This is what I plan to do.
TinnasVlogs4.0: I gave this product 4 stars due to several issues with set up.1) This company has several different apps for their cameras finding the correct one? Well I had to download 3 b4 i found the correct app. 👎2) The S/N M/N m And other information to receive help is so tiny u need a magnifying glass to see and read them. MAJOR FAIL 👎3) For tech service u need a translator the accents of some of their tech support is so thick I could barely understand them. Major Fail 👎So please know that these issues are going to take u some time for setting up.Took almost an hour for what should have been 10 minute set up.Other than those issues the camera works great the audio is a little crazy due to picking up ALL background noise. Built if u configure it right u should be pleased!
Amazon Customer3.0: Camera is good overall for the money but there are some terrible software bugs.1. On power up the camera does not update the time and date from the NTP server. It defaults to a random date and will only update if you manually log into the web interface.2. The alternate DNS server settings do not get saved on restarts. so every time the camera restarts it defaults to google DNS which is annoying since I have a DNS server setup.3. The software presets for the PTZ function don’t appear to work.The last firmware update was in July 2021 and it doesn’t appear there will be any more so if these items are crucial to you DO NOT BUT IT!
Ridgerunner485.0: Nice camera and as others have said it’s very easy to set up and use.After reading reviews about the Amcrest camera I purchased this camera mainly to supplement my Ring doorbell as Ring is not as responsive to motion as the Amcrest camera. The Amcrest camera does a very good job picking up motion and even alerts me to when the mail truck stops at my mailbox. I was considering buying one of the Ring Mailbox Sensors but that is not necessary now as the Amesst camera does that alert for me.I did have a problem where for some unknown reason the Amcrest camera dropped off my wifi and I did have to hard reset the camera twice. I contacted Amcrest support who was very responsive to offer suggestions to me how to get it back on wifi. The camera seems to be working fine now. So far I have been very pleased with the camera.
revelstone774.0: This has been a great little camera. I have it included in our surveillance system and since it’s WIFI I can easily move it around the house. I thought I had a problem with it recently but Amcrest tech support quickly identified the issue to be the USB power adapter I was using. DOH!
