Cercavo un antenna access point da piazzare sul balcone per portare il segnale wifi in box. Dopo varie ricerche e acquisti errati sono approdato a quest’antenna TPLink. Ad essere sincero TPLink non mi ha mai ispirato troppa fiducia (acquisti passati di scarsa qualità) ma visto Amazon (resi facili) e prezzo contenuto ho deciso di riprovare.Arrivata praticamente il giorno dopo ho deciso di provarla subito. Ho dovuto tribolare un po’ perché a differenza di altri apparati di rete che collego direttamente al mio portatile per configurarli (cablando sulla scheda la stessa classe di IP dell’apparato e raggiungendolo poi in http) questo (e devo dire che è decisamente facile) basta attaccarlo a una presa di rete e digitare l’indirizzo presente sull’etichetta posta dietro l’antenna. In quell’etichetta ci sono anche user e password (admin/admin).La configurazione è immeditata per quanto mi riguarda ho cambiato la classe di rete dato lo stesso SIDD della mia rete di casa e via. In 3 minuti configurata. L’ho attaccata poi con delle fascette alla ringhiera (è leggera) del balcone (in direzione box). Ricordate che è POE per cui la corrente la porta direttamente il cavo di rete e arriva già con un iniettore – nella confezione. Sul fianco inoltre è posto un led verde (che potete anche tenere sempre spento – lo decidete in fase di configurazione).In box (circa 80mt) il segnale arriva pieno con poca perdita e stabile. Andando lungo la corsia box (e sempre in direzione antenna) già a circa 100 inizia a perdere una tacca. A 150mt siamo proprio al limite.Ricapitolando: Access Point POE fino a max 150MT configurazione anche per principianti.4 stelle perché tutto sommato il prodotto è buono se si cercano prestazioni home (e senza troppe pretese). La quinta stella non la do per passati prodotti di bassa qualità associati a questa marca.Spero di esserti stato utile.

I have just purchased two of these EAP110 outdoor (2.4ghz only) APs to provide wifi to the back gardens. I have not fully range tested them yet (too cold outside) but will update this review when done. These are connected to an OC200 Omada controller and are grouped with three EAP225 (indoor) providing three SSID “networks” across 2.4 and 5ghz. The inside wifi had no chance of making it outside. The walls to this old house are thick and solid so these are planned to fix that plus a 75+ metre run down one garden. One arrived with an EU plug for the PoE adapter but I had a spare lead so not an issue to me. The other was a UK plug. Firmware versions on both were earlier versions but a 5MB download from TP-Link UK site brought that upto date in 15 minutes directly accessing the EAP using Chrome. I then simply adopted both into Omada and provisioned. I noted that the direct interface was really very straight forward and had a useful wizard on the version with 3.2 software loaded. Loads of settings available but as the capabilities of these EAP devices exceeds what you will need in a home setup unless you have a managed switch architecture as well (I don’t) then best left alone. However the performance ease of set up and thus far reliability meet my expectations.I will update once range testing completed (when it warms up!)…Update 17/02/21: Range tested. Retains 5 stars and some. Distance 81 metres (not line of sight (trees bushes not in leaf)) 72mbit/sec stable transmit power high. Distance 35 metres (line of sight) 72mbit/sec or better stable transmit power medium or low. Open source wifi app states -55 to -58db on both tests. Broadband speed test (google default) on BT advised 62mbit/sec link: 52mbit/sec. Not so bad then…

PRO ✌: collegamento facile – compatto – abbastanza plug and play – distanza senza alcun ostacolo accettabileCONTRO 😖: perdita di vari mb di velocità – basta un ostacolo per avere una perdita di segnale – configurazione ostica se c’è bisogno di personalizzarla.Ho acquistato questa antenna per avere segnale nella campagna intorno a me così da essere raggiungibile facilmente visto che dove abito non c’è molto segnale 3G o LTE. Il collegamento è facile basta collegarlo al router con un cavo Ethernet abbastanza lungo attraverso lo switch compreso nella confezione.E funziona senza configurazione.Peccato che nel mio caso c’è una perdita sostanziale di velocità di vari mb e abbastanza ballerina passa dai 4 ai 25 per tornare a 12 poi a 1 ecc. Ho provato a seguire le istruzioni per configurarlo con un amico abbastanza esperto ma non sono riuscito a risolvere il problema.C’è anche la possibilità che possa essere la mia linea o la mia poca competenza ma è molto difficile visto che con altri ripetitori interni la rete funziona bene.Inoltre basta un piccolo ostacolo come un muro che fa crollare il segnale l’inserzione parla di centinaia di metri di copertura ma è da intendere veramente a campo aperto altrimenti si riduce a poche decine come nel mio caso.Ho deciso di tenerla anche se non ne sono soddisfatto al 100% anche perché è sufficiente a sostenere un utilizzo della rete medio e mi copre l’indispensabile.Spero di esservi stato utile e se volete fare domande fate pure!

Easy to mount on a wall (drill two holes) or attach to a post (fixings supplied) gives me an excellent RSSI of -45 at the end of the garden. 2.4GHz only but that’s OK for most people.Connects to an Ethernet switch via passive PoE. An injector is supplied (this one had a European mains lead) though something like https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01N2UJO51 may be a neater solution if you have a PoE switch.If you spend a few more pennies to get an EAP225 then this will support 5GHz and 802.1at PoE. But if you just want some Wifi in the garden without spending too much then this is just the job.

Rubbish signal in unobstructed line of sight. NIGHTMARE SETUP no idea how the aerials should be configured as no information on polar pattens etc I have two of them bought a year apart which I put down to my slow learning curve but I’m on it know these are dog breath.
